how often have we seen our relationships becoming distant b'coz of physical distance. I often wonder if our feelings are hostage to our physical being...is physical proximity essential to sustain any relationship?
sometimes we feel so close to people that we no longer need speech to communicate...a look is enough to convey our thoughts and emotions and then when the same person moves to a different city and is away from us we are at a loss for words and no longer know what to say, a kind of awkwardness sets in...and with time the feelings die a natural death...
is everything transient...can we ever hold on to our emotions and capture them for a lifetime...or is it prudent to just bask in the sunshine of love till it lasts...
...i'm still looking for an answer to this question...maybe i think too much...

My opinion (I wouldn't necessarily call these "answers" to your questions)...
1. Our feelings ARE hostage to our physical being..
Proximity is a big big BIG part of any relationship..
Both physical AND emotional proximity. The lack of it puts unimaginable strains on a relationship.. and you have to have a very very strong history.. to survive that kind of strain...
2. Yea.. feelings do die a natural death with distance and time.. Some of us feel more badly about this death.. than others.. The others consider this a very "natural" phenomenon and are quite unaffected by it..
3. Most things are transient..
Cliche alert !! "The only constant thing is CHANGE.." blah blah blah.. Still doesn't change the fact that it SUX when its over !! What is prudent isn't always easy...
But "feelings" are for real.. even though they may increase/decrease in intensity.. or may do a complete 180 and go from extreme love to absolute hate... I gotta believe they're real..
Most people who don't get "involved" or "too attached" don't go through the emotional rollercoasters that, my friend, You or I would go through.. They don't experience the Lows.. but trust me.. they could never experience the highs that we could :)
