After weeks of feelings the symptoms of a burnout...i've finally realized the root cause of all my problems...and it is the fact that 'I'm a PERFECTIONIST'.
I used to believe that my determination to be perfect will win success, acceptance, love and fulfillment. But now i know that even when perfectionists do achieve, they do not realize that they've neglected themselves and all their loved ones in an insane drive to be 'PERFECT' and thus deprived themselves of the very love and acceptance they want so badly to gain...they lose their peace of mind, enjoyment of life and greatly increase the level of stress they feel on a daily basis.
Now that i know my problem..i've a BIGGER problem at hand...how do i start the process of shedding this burden of perfectionism...it seems like a constant duel with oneself...a perfect 'No Win' situation...
HELP!!!!

There is no "Perfect". There are no absolutes. The face of your greatest enemy might be the face of my greatest friend. An event that is a tragedy to one is an event of unlimited opportunity to another. What really separates people who are habitually optimistic and upbeat from those who are habitually miserable is how events and happenings in life are interpreted.
Perfection is not a race. It is a journey. It is a state of mind. It in something that cannot be achieved or experienced. Perfection is purely relative. Being content with something is as close to perfection as you can ever get. If we learn to appreciate what we have and learn to enjoy and celebrate what we have, that state of mind is where you are going to get happiness. Just like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, perfection is in the minds of those who experience it.
Hypothetically think abt what happens when you achieve perfection. What do you have to look forward to everyday? Perfection is a state, a journey, a dream - that needs to be transcended - not achieved.
Let me recommend a good book to read "The monk who sold his Ferrari".
For starters, you can make sure fewer bugs are logged with product teams and realise that you don't HAVE to release a perfect product. :D
On a more serious note, it helps to realise that: much of what we strive to achieve doesn't matter at all and hence, put less effort in strife, more in enjoyment and imbibe procrastination. :)
